Christy Knight

Community Mapping Assistance Project
Christy Knight is the Community Mapping Assistance Project GIS Maping Analyst and Web Designer. She joined CMAP's staff in November 1999. Before joining CMAP, Christy spent two years as a Peace Corps volunteer in Burkina Faso, where she taught English and cartography to university students. She holds a masters degree in geography from the University of Kansas and a bachelors degree in geography from Kansas State, and has extensive experience with computer mapping and graphic design.
Knights maps have appeared in: New York Magazine, City Limits, The New York Times, news conferences held by clients such as the NYC Public Advocates office, NYPIRGs Straphangers Campaign, and the Metropolitan Waterfront Alliance; and reports, brochures, websites, and other publications used by more than two dozen client groups. Knight has also worked with NYPIRGs graphic design team to develop the web interfaces for the OASIS, CENYC, and Sustainable Long Island interactive mapping services, CMAPs website and the Living Memorials website.
